Since its inaugural 1989 vintage, this outstanding vineyard has been part of the Heitz Cellar estate and produces one of our three, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. Nestled between the Silverado Trail and Conn Creek, on eastern side of the Rutherford AVA, only the best blocks are selected for this vineyard designate wine. The 2012 vintage displays the savory earthy hallmarks of Trailside, such as English thyme and bay laurel with a core of red cherries and cocoa powder. It is the most pure and expression of the classic Rutherford style. It shows incredibly well in its youth and continues to reward with time in bottle.
