2010 Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Limit: 6 Bottles
Dark ruby with youthful intensity, the 2010 Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon opens with bright aromas of boysenberry and mint alongside eucalyptus and citrus peel. Highly structured, this wine demands patience or substantial decanting. The palate reveals firm tannins and pronounced acidity that will carry it decades into the future. Dark chocolate and spice notes develop slowly. While the mintiness dissipates with air, the wine’s cherry-eucalyptus profile is almost Brunello-like. This was the favorite during a recent member seminar in July.
2021 Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Limit: 6 Bottles
A second consecutive year of dry weather lent itself to an incredible vintage in Napa Valley. Harvest started early for our 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, and we immediately noticed fruit with an intensity of concentration and flavor. Low yields produced a wine with a distinct expression of Oakville terroir and brilliant acidity, and all of this vineyard’s signature crème de cassis fruit, blueberries, mint, and spice box. It will be very long-lived.
